Series: Castlevania

Simon is one of the early vampire hunters in the Belmont clan that has slain Dracula with the legendary whip "Vampire Killer". He was the star of the first ever Castlevania game for NES as well as several other games in the series. While his primary weapon is a whip he also is familiar with daggers, axe's, potions and many divine magic spells. While there have been many to follow in his footsteps, Simon will always remain as one of the most powerful and memorable protagonists to ever tackle Dracula’s Castle.

Newcomer??: Mabye. For one thing, if Snake is in then Nintendo clearly has a close relationship with Konami. Another thing to point out is that the standard Castlevania game engine plays out a lot like Smash Bros.

Mega Man (or "Rockman") was created in a lab in order to stop Dr. Wily and his army of robots from fulfilling his plans of world domination. He has many powerful abilities and can attain new powers from defeated foes. Since his birth on the NES Mega Man has changed his appearance several times. He has also gained a few allies including the beam sword-wielding Zero and a robot dog named Rush. Mega Man has the potential for unfathomable power; Hadouken!!

Newcomer??: Unlikely. Considering Sora's comment stating that there would only be a few third party characters, it seems unlikely that Mega Man would make the cut. No ties to Capcom have been seen yet.

Series: Sonic

In an attempt to outdo Nintendo's Mario, Sega created a cooler, faster mascot. Since then Sonic as caught on as one of the most popular video game characters of all time. Sonic runs across his planet collecting rings and power-ups in order to put a stop to Doctor Eggman and his evil plans. Soon after his creation he gained two allies named Tails and Knuckles. In more recent games even more characters were introduced. The Sonic cast is quite large now but this blue hedgehog will always be the star. Beyond his insane speed, he has the ability to transform into the ever-so-powerful Super Sonic.

Newcomer??: Inevitable. It's going to happen whether you like it or not. From day one fans have wanted to see the legendary match between Mario and Sonic. Recent reports say Sega hasn’t shown interest in the project, but, my ass.
